About Me:

Welcome! My name is Yuqing Xia, 8th Grade math teacher in Kennedy Middle School. My educational journey includes earning a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from the University of Southern California, followed by the achievement of a single subject teaching credential in mathematics from San Francisco State University. These qualifications have afforded me a comprehensive understanding of pedagogical principles and a solid foundation in mathematics instruction.

Currently, I serve as a dedicated 8th-grade math teacher at Kennedy Middle School, where my primary mission is to enhance students' mathematical proficiency while nurturing their self-assurance and passion for the subject. My daily responsibilities encompass the development of meticulous lesson plans, the creation of engaging instructional materials, and the delivery of Common Core-aligned math curriculum. I take pride in assessing students' learning progress and collaborating with fellow educators to refine pedagogical strategies and lesson plans, all while cultivating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.

At the core of my teaching philosophy lies a commitment to creating captivating and interactive classrooms. I achieve this by integrating a variety of resources, including manipulatives, hands-on activities, and cutting-edge technology. My teaching methodology emphasizes open dialogue, exploration through open-ended questions, and collaborative learning, resulting in a dynamic and inquisitive classroom atmosphere.
