Meet Our Assistant Principal Chandra Leonardo

Chandra Leonardo is thrilled and honored to serve as an administrator at Kennedy. Mrs. Leonardo is no stranger to the Kennedy community. She recently taught 6th and 7th grade English language arts and social studies, technology, and AVID classes at Kennedy for six years. Prior to teaching at the middle school level, Mrs. Leonardo taught second and fifth graders; she was also a social worker. In 2016, Mrs. Leonardo was awarded the Symetra Teacher Hero Award. Mrs. Leonardo is also a 2016 MERIT graduate, a Digital Lead Learner within the Redwood City School District, a Google Certified Teacher, and she has taught other teachers how to infuse technology within their lessons at educational technology conferences throughout the Bay Area. 

Mrs. Leonardo believes in creating and cultivating strong relationships with students because she wants them to feel valued and supported as they navigate their way through middle school life. “I remember what it felt like being in middle school, so I know how important it is for middle school students to feel like the adults in their lives care about them,” Mrs. Leonardo says. “I also look forward to supporting and creating strong relationships with Kennedy teachers.”
